An entire campus, abandoned for years, in the middle of Perth's northern suburbs. A restaurant, library, lecture theatre, scores of classrooms and other buildings. VCR's, band-saw with the wood-shavings still on, film projectors, electronic equipment, cash, and miscellaneous office furnishings. A state of suspended animation - everyone just got up and left. Won't somebody think of the children?
This was the library. Ironically, interior design students now travel back to this site to see how it should be done.
The dining room - where students would serve up meals prepared in the extensive kitchen facilities. Plenty of industrial, 120cm, stainless steel, cast iron hob, gas ovens still on-site (BYO trailer). Top left, there is a row of windows. They are actually the outside of an interior upper-level tunnel, a dark passage joining two second floor plant-rooms. Put me down for the first game of laser-tag.
Lecture theatre. Have you seen Animal House recently? This place was like Delta House fraternity had taken over the entire Faber College campus. A little less Douglas Neidermyer, Sergeant at Arms, and a little more Bluto Blutasrsky, alcoholic, is exactly what Perth needs.
One of the many classrooms. With this many rooms, the interior decoration currently being undertaken is a huge job, and very much a work in progress.
The lab. Not a griffin beaker, volumetric flask, or serological pipette to be seen. In other unrelated news, Perth's 50th meth-lab was busted this week.
Get those ovens, they are flying out the door.
The main classroom block was three levels high. Clearly, the decorators had really put in some quality time on this part of the campus over the last few years, and the results are showing. A recent survey of ex-students showed that (87.6%) thought the campus looked better now.
Since the demise of the Atlantis Marine Park, the northern suburbs of Perth have been sorely missing a tourist attraction they can call their own. Hillary's Marina tried, and failed. Burns Beach caravan park, prior to recent urban sprawl, had all the right elements. Dizzy Lamb Park, had it been left to develop into the abandoned-zombie-land it was always destined to be, would have made the grade (these things don't happen over-night). However, as it stands, this is quite simply the only place north of Walcott St that can really lay claim to being one of Perth's truly iconic tourist attractions.

Thanks sanj, it is pretty special.
Nice blog, here is some more information on Dining Room Furnishings.
Great Blog
Where is the address to these places? would love to go visit there in person.
Thanks Henry - I have been advised not to put the address on the blog. Google should help you find what you are looking for...
This is really a great location and some excellent photos of it.
Thank you very much TWOP. Your site has kept me amused for some time now, keep up the good fight.
Oh the humanities!
Please do not disclose the locations :) It will end the fun for alot of genuine urban explorers
Hey Method, I agree. However, in this case, I knew the building was ready to be demolished. In fact, it is, right now, in the process of disappearing forever....
it's carine abandoned tafe, somewhat close to the highschool. just search it on google earth
Google Earth is outdated, the entire campus is currently being demolished. Another one bites the dust...
CARINE TAFE: That's insane, I cant believe I was there in 2000 doing a hospitality course and now 10yrs later it doesn't exist..... what in the hell happened?
WOW! I live a few streets away. Never saw (m)any people in there and found it a tad strange...
If only I knew! Incredible.
Does anyone know if this is still there? Is it still as awesome in the photos?

Sorry, I can't promise to email, but when each new post is made, I'm sure you will figure out where the building is. That's part of the fun! Tracking down the locations that are hidden from most people!
PS - this building has now been demolished. Completely gone!
The buildings were used by the TRG and SES for training a few weeks before they were demolished.
they were still educational to the end.
I used to ride through there every day on the way to carine high school, for 5 years... its amazing to see this now, only 11 years later since i graduated.
Same here - went to Carine High and this place was just over the road so to speak. I'd been in there heaps of times, and now it's GONE
I graduates this year, and in 2009 thats where i spent all my time with my friends instead of going to school, I went to carine high, and we wagged and went to the TAFE all year was most really amazing and fun as a rebel teen.
Damn, I wanted to take a look around. I drove past the other night, whole place looks like it's fenced off with warning stating it's a demolition site. Wish I had known earlier to take a look, something fascinating about abandoned sites, especially when everything's just been left there. I am sure perth is full of many other abandoned goodies though! Props to a great blog too :)
Hey what a dope site and blog. I use to come here all the time to chill and paint. One sneaky one even above, good times. Yes it used to be pretty freaky painting in there when all the TRG rocked up for shooting practice. When Cragie became hot for a while this was a great place for kings to paint a day spot that was reasonably relaxed. Shame it got the bulldoze like most of the fresh spots in this town.
So many great memories at Carine TAFE... I studied hospitality there, 1999/2000... Very sad :(
I still can't believe that I was only able to briefly explore this place back in 2007 as an adventurous 13 year old, I live in duncraig and its so easily accessible right off marmion ave. shame it was demolished last year some time
hey whats the address
can i have it
is there anywhere else like this place
The reason it was left in a hurry and sad state is because there was a ghost found in the toilets.
That's why TRG went in with their assult and sniper rifles but no luck.....then ghost busters were called
Wow. I studied laboratory practices here back in the early eighties. Great campus, great memories. Sad it's gone. The grey walls were a little ugly, though. Should've got street artists in then to do it up!
i studied here way back in 91. Man i feel old now.
The main multistory block was known as Alcatraz
God if lived just down the road from it for all my life and I now want to go explore abandoned building but it was knocked down 2 years ago :/
What a waste! Great pics though!
Hey. Does anyone know where it is?
Please send me the adress via email. I need it for a school projekt.
erif.no.lrig@gmail.com
Parkour FTW!!!!!!! L0L could somebody please email me the address of an abandoned building (preferably a school or hospital, the freakier the better) to do some photography/parkour/documentry making.
Thanks

I used to squat at this place haha. I went back to look for something I thought I might have left there was still there, but unfortunately they have bulldozed it and replace it with massive yuppie apartments.
I was recommended this website by my cousin. I'm no longer certain whether this
post is written via him as nobody else recognize such detailed approximatepy my problem.
You are amazing! Thank you!

Hi there. Feel free to comment, but keep this in mind:
This is a happy place, lets keep it that way, together. In this day and age of spam and idiots, I need to check every comment before it gets published. If it's now 2013, odds are I'm on a tropical beach somewhere in South East Asia, or possibly checking out some abandoned Soviet-era architecture in Eastern Europe, and maybe your comment won't appear for some time. But leave one anyway! If you have a personal message for me, I won't publish the comment, so feel free to submit it here. Thanks for checking out 6000TIMES, and have a nice day.
